Alley cropping is the cultivation of crops in between widely spaced rows of trees or shrubs.

The roots of trees and perennials capture nutrients that annual crops cannot access, and will increase the productivity of our farm. The trees reduce wind stress on crops and stabilize crop temperatures. Alley cropping also increases soil health and fertility, helping with pest and disease and creating new pollinator and wildlife habitats.

Win. Win. Win. Win. Win.

Help us bring alley cropping to Sola Gratia Farm.

Plant a tree or shrub in honor of a loved one. The plant will have a permanent marker with the name of your loved one, and you can visit it every year during our Open House to watch it grow.

You can sponsor a tree or shrub in honor of a loved one for a minimum of $100 per plant.

If you’d prefer a tree that is part of our Edible Windbreak project, we still have some available. LINK Click here.
