Seed Saving: Grow More Good Workshop Series 6 of 6

  • The Community Classroom at Sola Gratia Farm 2200 Philo Rd Urbana, Illinois United States (map)

Seed Saving

The act of saving seeds from your garden may seem like a no brainer, but there are some considerations to keep in mind:

  • How does pollination work? What is cross pollination?

  • Are the plants in my garden open pollinated or hybrids?

  • When is the correct time to harvest seeds from different plants in my garden?

  • If I plant jalapenos next to my cucumbers, will the cucumber seeds I save and plant next year make spicy cukes? (nope!)

The Outreach/Education team at Sola Gratia Farm will answer all of these questions and more at the final workshop of our Grow More Good Series 2026.

Registration is required. The cost of this workshop is $5, though scholarships are available for anyone who needs one. Email scholarship requests to info@solagratiacsa.com - All are welcome!

This workshop will take place outdoors at The Community Classroom at Sola Gratia Farm. It is strongly recommended to wear closed-toed shoes and sun protection. Standing and walking on potentially uneven surfaces is standard at our workshop series, so please reach out to us with any mobility concerns and we will do everything we can do accommodate you!
